Ontario Psychology Association (OPA): Fee Recommendations

​

Psychologist's hourly fees vary. The 2015 Ontario Psychology Association's recommended hourly rate is $225 per hour. See the OPA's PDF on fees.

Pilowsky Rate for Psychologists and Psychological Associates : $200.00 / clinical hour

Pilowsky Rate for Psychotherapists : $150.00 / clinical hour

Does OHIP cover Psychological Services?

​

In general, the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does no cover psychological services. OHIP may cover some services in hospital settings. 

​

Many employers offer paramedical plans as part of an employee benefits package. Paramedical plans help employees to pay for Psychological services such as therapy and assessments. If you do not have an employee plan, you can buy an individual plan from a private insurance company.

Most plans do not cover the full cost of services.
