Confidentiality
Your privacy will be
completely protected, and everything you tell me during an assessment or
therapy session will remain confidential. As a Registered Psychologist, I
follow a Code of Ethics that strictly prohibits me from revealing any
information my clients provide. I will only share your information with a
pertinent individual (such as your doctor, lawyer, or insurance adjuster),
if you allow me to do so in a signed consent form.
The only exceptions to
this rule would be extraordinary circumstances, such as if the patient tells
me that she will harm herself or others, or that she has engaged in child
abuse.
Therapy and assessment
procedures
I am required to
explain to you the name, description and purpose of any therapy or
assessment procedures I intend to conduct. I am also responsible for
informing you of any risks and benefits of the procedures. Moreover, you
have the right to ask any questions about anything that happens in therapy
or assessments. Moreover, I am always happy to receive suggestions from the
patient, and discuss alternative procedures that may work better. If you are
not satisfied with my approach, we can discuss how we can modify it to
better meet your needs, or I may refer you to another therapist or
specialist.
